Product Description

JVC's CU-VD40 lets you create DVDs from home movies, stored on compatible Everio hard drive camcorders without turning on a computer. It is even compatible with JVC's high-definition GZ-HD7. You will be able to archive footages on full-size DVDs for playback on the CU-VD40. Burn standard-definition DVDs of your home movies that will work in most new DVD players.

Just connect your camcorder to the Share Station with the supplied USB cable. Use the camcorders LCD screen to select and organize the scenes you want to transfer then pop in a blank DVD and push "record". You can copy a 1-hour standard-definition movie, recorded at the Everio's highest-quality setting, in approximately 30 minutes.

Play your standard-definition discs on virtually any newer DVD player. Use the VD40 to play back discs you've archived from the HD7, too. This Share Station's HDMI output lets you send high-definition video and digital audio to a compatible television or audio/video component through a single convenient cable. Other audio/video outputs let you select the best connection for your TV.

user comment JVC CU VD40 Share Station DVD Burner for HD Everio Camcorders Awsomly convinient unit for backing up your projects!

I'm not sure why everybody is complaining. This device works perfectly in the way it supposed to! Its task is creating backup copies of your footage from 60Gb GZ-HD7 hard drive. The unit is very reliable, works in tandem with the camera which allows select shots and combine them.
You don't have have to have it as Everio offers many ways to backup the footage, but this is one of them. As the description states it is not designed for making DVDs to watch. For making DVDs connect your Everio GZ-HD7 to general DVD recorder with audio-video interfaces. This unit connects to camcorder via USB. I am very happy with this my purchase!

I have had the Everio G for a year now. I had tried many ways to figure out how to get my movies on CD. I asked around, people kept on shrugging their shoulders and giving me lousy answers.
Here is the correct answer for the Everio, get the share station. It is really cool. You just edit your movies on the camera or on the computer and send it to this burner.
You have a couple of options. One is that you can plug the burner into the camera and burn movies from that device. The other option is that you can plug it into the computer.
It is very quiet. I was nervous that it was not working because it was so quiet, but it works like a charm. I would recomment CD's that have CD-R on them because these work best.

Received unit and set it up using HDMI cable. Works great. There is no means for editing this is just for HD Video taken with the JVC camera. Stores HD on regular DVDs. You can then use the "Intensity Pro HDMI card from Blackmagicdesign to edit you HD video and store on the computer.

The JVC camera takes exceptional pictures but to download off the Everio GZ-HD7 to any DVD recorder is impossible one must buy the JVC- CU-VD40 Share Station burner and must use DVD R-DL discs that are not sold at any retail story simply stated it is a pain to have to go online to order these discs and if you are successful one can go through three discs at $3.00 each to get an hour of High Definition programming on the disc. The instructions aren't complete. I called customer service they are not schooled in the challenges of downloading.

These products are big disappointment I would not recommen that anyone the JVC HD camer takes good pic but a realy expensive challenge to download off the hard drive

Worse yes these are sold by Best Buy where I purchase my movie camera, there is noone at Best Buy that has a clue on how to download off this camera

In summary the worse retail experience I have ever had.. JVC should take this product off the market for all the above reasons...
