Product Description

World's Smallest and Slimmest Design It took JVC to make an HD camcorder so small and light. 30% smaller compared to the previous year's, these models are the world's smallest and thinnest HD camcorders with built-in HDD, making them easier to carry and enjoy than ever before. New Laser Touch Operation An evolved version of our previous Laser Touch Operation, this system now allows Zooming and Recording using either the Laser Touch or standard zoom lever and REC button. Of course, browsing through indexes and menu selections is easy as ever. Digest Playback This function automatically selects highlight scenes from among the recorded content using our proprietary algorithm and plays back what looks like a "coming attractions" trailer for a movie. 60 minutes of footage is condensed into 5 minutes of highlight scene. 1920x1080/60P Output (HD Upconvert) Using the same technology as GENESSA HD displays, this function outputs a 1080 scanning line image at progressive 60fps so you can enjoy uncompromising picture quality on a TV that accepts 1080P input. *TV must be compatible with output formats. Remote Control Provided remote control to operate Everio from a distance for playback, DVD burning, etc. just like a DVD deck. One Touch Upload to YouTubeTM You can easily upload your videos to YouTubeTM and share them with the world. Everio makes uploading a breeze. Share your memories with family or friends living far away. * Installation of bundled software required. One Touch Pre-upload recording for YouTubeTM When the UPLOAD button is pressed before recording, this automatically limits recordings to 10 minutes in length to keep them within the YouTubeTM file size limit. Smart and convenient.

I bought this video camera because I wanted HD of course, but I also liked the small size and the salesman was pretty darn good of selling this thing out the door.

1. I haven't figured out how to burn the HD to DVD on the highest video setting. I'll keep working it - but when you set this thing at the highest quality video, it tells you you won't be able to export this to DVD.

2. Agree, the software that comes with it is not super easy to use.

3. Video quality suffers in low lighting such as indoors. The picture looks grainy (even when you use the video light). Outdoors in excellent light, colors and visuals are great.

4. Playing the videos back on my PC strains the PC memory and CPU. Even with a dual-core processor, 512 video driver, and 3 gigs of RAM - it's still slow / choppy. I'm better off playing directly from the camera to my TV.

5. As always, buy the bigger battery.

That's my 2 cents - I'll probably learn more as I continue to figure out its settings.

I recieved the product in great condition and it shipped very fast.
When I began playing around with this camcorder, i was amazed at the video quality. However, utilizing the software that ships with this camcorder is a pain in the ***. Every warm fuzzy feeling I get operating the camera, dissapears in a flash when I attempt to do anything with the video stored in the HDD. Shame on JVC for shipping a good camcorder with such crappy software (MediaBrowserHD edition). Shame on Pixela for making such a POS! To realize the full potential of this device, I have to purchase a decent program to export, edit, burn to BD and enjoy my video.
